Manchester City vs Arsenal Match Preview
Sunday: 16:15 CET (+2) - 14:15 local time, Etihad Stadium, Manchester
Undefeated Manchester City prepare to take on the Gunners, as the Sky Blues are on top form and are currently one of the best teams in Europe. Although Arsenal struggled in the beginning of the season, they have gotten back into the title race and are only one point below the Spurs who are in 3rd place with 20 points.
In goal, Man City have Brazilian keeper Ederson who has five clean sheets in ten matches. As Man City's keeper last season Claudio Bravo struggled and was heavily criticised, Ederson was the perfect replacement for the Sky Blues. At the back Man City have John Stones and Argentinian international Nicolas Otamendi who both have a combined total of a 94% pass accuracy rate. Both Stones and Otamendi scored against Napoli in the Champions League earlier this week. In the middle Man City have David Silva and Kevin de Bruyne have been the main factor in Man City's success as both players have a combined total of 12 assists in the league. And up front, Man City have the lethal South American duo Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus who together have 12 goals, and could have a big impact against the Gunners.
Czech keeper Petr Cech has performed well for the Gunners as he has four clean sheets. The Gunners best player in defence is left back Sead Kolasinac who was signed from Schalke 04 for free. Kolasinac has won 89% of the tackles and has three assists. The player to watch for on Arsenal is currently Aaron Ramsey as he has scored in the last two matches against Everton and Swansea City. Despite Mesut Ozil receiving heavy criticism from Arsenal fans, he has been the key player in Arsenal's last two victories and was controlling the game. Up front, Arsenal have former Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette who has adapted well to the Premier League as he has five goals in ten matches.
The home side will want to continue their undefeated run in the Prem as they are top of the table with 28 points and five points above 2nd place Manchester United. If the Gunners want to stay in the title race, then this match is a must win.
