May 19th Daily Update

Despite many football leagues being at a standstill, everyday I will bring updates of what is going on in football leagues around the world. The biggest leagues that have ended their season early is Ligue 1 in France and the Dutch. The Bundesliga is the biggest league that has resumed games. England :     All Premier League teams have voted in favour of being able to train in small groups of five players starting from today. Teams have already been training but individually as Premier League chief executive Richard Masters hopes to resume the league on June 12th. The next step which is allowing regular training sessions with contact is at the moment set for next week. According to the Guardian, Premier League matches with fans may not happen until next year. The Newcastle training ground is set for the players to return. Revierderby Preview

The Bundesliga is back after a two month pause due to the coronavirus pandemic. Borussia Dortmund host arch rivals Schalke 04 in the Revierderby which is one of the biggest rivalries in football. BVB have won four games in a row whereas Schalke's last seven games have gone without a win. Schalke will definitely want to get back to winning ways and ruin Dortmund's chances of lifting the title. Attacking midfielder Thorgan Hazard has ten assists and has a 81% pass accuracy rate as he helps control the game. On the wing BVB have Jadon Sancho and Achraf Hakimi who are quick as both players have done a combined 1,550 sprints. Despite the majority of football leagues being at a standstill, everyday I will bring updates of what is going on in football leagues around the world. The biggest leagues that have ended their season early is Ligue 1 in France and the Eredivisie. England:    Players in the Premier League who's contracts expire on June 30th are now allowed to extend their contract until the end of the season.  All 20 Premier League teams have voted to complete the 2019-2020 season, however not every team is on the same page on where the games should take place. League Managers Association chief executive Richard Bevan states that the Premier League will be cancelled if a minimum of seven clubs don't agree to playing at neutral grounds. The neutral grounds will be in stadiums where the local population is less dense to avoid crowds outside the stadiums. England:  League Managers Association chief executive Richard Bevan states that the Premier League will be cancelled if a minimum of seven clubs don't agree to playing at neutral grounds. The neutral grounds will be in stadiums where the local population is less dense to avoid crowds outside the stadiums. May 8th Daily Update

Despite the majority of football leagues being at a standstill, everyday I will bring updates of what is going on in football leagues around the world. Germany:  Great news in Germany as yesterday it was announced by the federation that the Bundesliga & Bundesliga 2 will resume matches on May 16th. On Wednesday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel gave the green light for the Bundesliga & Bundesliga 2 to resume matches behind closed doors and leaving it up to the German Federation to decide on the date to restart. The leagues will be finished by June 27th. There are already some big games to look forward to as on May 16th the Revierderby between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke will be watched around the world. On the same day RB Leipzig host Freiburg and on May 17, Bayern Munich travel to Union Berlin. Which Football Leagues are still going on?

Belarus: The Vysshaya Liga (1st tier) is the only professional league in Europe to keep playing matches despite the pandemic. The league managed to attract many fans from around the world as many football fans are simply desperate to watch some football. It has been a fascinating season so far as Slutsk are top of the league after seven games. BATE Borisov who regularly compete in the Champions League and Europa League are three points behind Slutsk in 3rd place. Some fans picked FC Slutsk due to people liking the name of the club as Robinson adds that "With the name it created a bit of laughter, so we went, that'll do, we'll go with that''. Robinson admits that he didn't think that the group would become as big as it became and started it as "a bit of banter"

May 2nd Football Daily Update

England: The Premier League's 20 clubs had a meeting yesterday and decided that the 2019-2020 season must be completed. Another video conference is planned for next Friday on May 8th to decide when the Premier League can start matches again, according to the Telegraph. All Premier League clubs along with some Championship clubs have invested in coronavirus testing machines.
