Games to watch for Thursday's WC Qualifiers

       As the club teams have a week off, there is still football for us to watch. As there are only very few games left in the World Cup Qualifiers, these games prove if your country is good enough to play in the biggest sporting event in the world.  Here are some of the games I recommend to watch. Asia   In the Asian qualifiers there are two groups of six teams in this round. The top two teams from each group automatically qualify for the World Cup,  the 3rd place teams from Group A and B have a play-off match against each other. The remaining teams can't qualify for the World Cup.  Group B:  Japan vs Australia 13:35 CET (+3) - 19:35 local time, Saitama Stadium, Saitama         The first match is between the Socceroos and Japan, as the two biggest footballing nations in Asia go head to head in central Japan. Borussia Dortmund sees off Hertha Berlin

         On Saturday Borussia Dortmund (BVB) played Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga at home with a huge crowd of 80, 800 spectators. This is the 2nd match of the season for both teams. Both teams won their opening games last weekend. Each team has their big targets as, BVB's goal is to win the Bundesliga and Hertha Berlin goal is get top 4.         The game was evenly matched in the first 15 minutes. BVB open the scoring as the Turkish midfielder Nuri Sahin crosses the ball into the penalty box, for Aubameyang to slot it home. After the 1st goal Hertha Berlin were struggling to create chances. Meanwhile in the 27th minute, the US international Christian Pulisic runs into the penalty box and just misses a crucial opportunity to make it 2-0 as Hertha keeper Rune Jarstein saves it. Liverpool in dream-land as Arsenal fail to turn up

Last Sunday, was a nightmare and a depressing afternoon for Arsenal, however for Liverpool it was a big statement and a crucial early season win. Both teams needed a win to keep up with Manchester United who are top of the league with 9 points after 3 games. In the 11th minute, Egyptian striker Mohammed Salah almost opened the scoring for Liverpool as Petr Cech saved a one-on-one opportunity. However Liverpool soon got their goal as Gomez gives a beautiful cross to Firmino from the right hand side as the unmarked striker headers it in. Liverpool were controlling the game and continued to create chances for a second goal. Towards the end of the 1st half, Arsenal are trying to create chances to score but are unable to find a shooting opportunity. The Senegalese international Sadio Mane dribbles the ball in the left hand side and scores a magnificent goal, as he shoots the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal to make it 2-0 to Liverpool at halftime.
